Rechtszaak uitlevering Julian Assange - 'het belang van lekken van staatscriminaliteit'

op 20 en 21 februari 2024 was er een mogelijk laatste rechtszaak onder de Engelse wet, voordat Julian Assange wordt uitgeleverd aan de Verenigde Staten. Nederlandse journalist Djamila le Pair was er bij in de rechtszaal en doet verslag. Julian Assange vertelde de wereld van oorlogsmisdaden die door de Verenigde Staten en Groot Brittanie zijn begaan in Irak en Afghanistan. Voor die publicaties wil de VS hem uitgeleverd hebben en onder de spionnagewet veroordelen.

In this report Djamila and Rico first visit the prison Belmarsh, then at the demonstration many speakers standing on the empty chair next to the whistle-blowers, explain what is at stake and where the defence for Julian stands. London Report on Assage Extradition - conclusions

Images from the tensts area outside Woolwich Crown Court on Tuesday February 25th followed by an interview with Irishman Jim Curran, who's been a long time advocate for Assange. We talk at the gate of Woolwich Crown Court when we're joined by Kristinn Hrafnsson of Wikileaks, who was let back into court after having been kicked out earlier. On Wednesdaymorning Tom from Australia who's managing the campsite gets greeted by John Shipman, as happens every morning.

I then leave for the airport to catch my flight, via the Tower of London where I record a summary of this report.
