Oud en Nieuw 2020 (2/3) - The OPCW desinformation about 'poison gas' that wasn’t in Douma Syria (English)

deel twee van een 5½ uur durend oudjaarsavond huiskamer interview (blogpost livestream, hele show in YouTube - hele show in Soundcloud)
part two of a 5½ hour new year’s eve interview. links to part1 - part2 - deel3

In Douma Syria, some thought there had been a chemical weapons attack on April 7th 2018. The reporting done by the OPCW appeared to confirm that.
OPCW Whistleblowers however proved the OPCW reporting however to be false. London based Peter Hitchens talked to one of them. I interviewed Hitchens about this in café Weltschmerz in December 2019.

Another journalist investigated the matter: Tareq Haddad. Not only did he learn what was wrong with the OPCW reporting, he learned what was wrong with Bellingcat as well. His employer (Newsweek) however did not want to publish his reporting. Tareq subsequently left Newsweek. Eric van de Beek has followed the OPCW developing story from the Netherlands, I talk to Eric and Tareq about the stalemate we appear to be in with media, politicians and OPCW all keeping quiet about their flawed reporting.

During the interview we take the discussion even more international when Hrvoje Moric, from the Geopolitics and Empire podcast joins.
